The Ribbon object model for Office 2010 was supplemented with the commands ActivateTab, ActivateTabMso and ActivateTabQ that allow code to 'select' any tab in the Ribbon. Note, however, that they will not work when an Office application is loading as the Ribbon is not ready to receive the commands at this time. These are also available in 2013. The Ribbon object model designed for Office 2007 does not provide any way to activate a particular Ribbon tab. There are two basic approaches we can use to work around this issue. Each of them has its drawbacks 1. Use the SendKeys command (Windows.Forms namespace) to simulate the user's pressing of Alt+[keytip] (the keytip you assign to the Tab). Drawback: 1) SendKeys does not always execute as expected. 2) If another add-in assigns the same keytip, there will be a conflict so that SendKeys does not work.
